The Claremont Colleges Advantage
Each of the colleges and universities that make up the The Claremont Colleges Consortium boasts distinct academic departments, research centers, institutes, cultural opportunities and recreational and gathering spaces.
At the Claremont Colleges, youβll have the opportunity to take courses, collaborate with professors, engage in research centers and labs, join clubs and organizations, and attend events and cultural experiences across all the colleges that make up our one-of-a-kind consortium.
Across The Claremont Colleges Consortium
Seven Institutions. Boundless Resources.
The Claremont Colleges Consortium is composed of five highly ranked liberal arts undergraduate colleges and two graduate schools. Collectively, they are known as the β7Cs.β In fact, 2025 marks 100 years of collaborative excellence. All five of the undergraduate colleges sit on the same, contiguous campus, making it easy to get to an early morning class at Harvey Mudd or a concert at Pomona. In fact, it takes just 20 minutes to cross from one end of the Colleges' shared campus to the other.
Shared Academics
ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄ students are Claremont Colleges students, too. So, in addition to our wide-ranging on-campus curriculum, youβll be able to take more than 2,100 courses across the five undergraduate colleges in the consortium. A typical ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄ student takes half their classes at ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄, 40% at the other 5Cs, and 10% in the Department of Natural Sciences. And your status as a Claremont Colleges student means that you can declare an off-campus major in any field offered by another college in the consortium.
The Claremont Colleges Library
The academic heart of the 5C consortium, The Claremont Colleges Library provides study spaces, events, and research assistance to 5C students. And with a collection comprising more than 2.7 million items, itβs also one of the largest academic libraries in California.
Claremont Graduate University's One-Year Masters
If youβre looking to take your studies further, the 7Cs are the perfect place to do it. Claremont Graduate University offers ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄ students the chance to pursue a joint undergraduate and masterβs degree over the course of five years.
Shared Resources
The Hive
The Hive is an intercollegiate design center focused on helping 5C students develop skills in human-centered design. The Hive offers skillshares and workshops in areas such as woodworking, screenprinting, and presenting, as well as full courses that provide the chance to hone your skills by working on real-world projects.
Department of Natural Sciences & The Nucleus
If youβre looking to major in science at ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄, youβre in luck. Our Department of Natural Sciences, a joint program with Scripps College, has more than 50 full-time faculty and several active research groups. And the department is housed in the Nucleus, our brand-new, 151,000 square-foot science building, which features classrooms, lab space, and even a community greenhouse.
Student Voices
βI feel lucky to be able to take classes, do research, and be a part of other 5C communities. At the end of the day, I really enjoy coming back to ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄, but there's something intellectually stimulating about engaging with people from the different schools.β
